Will Work for Fabric

She speaks my language

It's so nice to have a friend/machine quilter who totally speaks my language!

She sent me a note to say my quilt was done.  This is how the phone conversation went right after that note:

Me:  Hi....I'm such a 2 year old.

Her:  You're coming to pick up your quilt today?

Me: Right after work.

See, she gets me!  But more importantly, when we talk about what I want done on my quilt, I know she gets me.  I say I want something feathery to fill the open spaces and she sees the same picture I had in my mind.  I am so lucky to know someone on the same wavelength....although, I'm a little scared for her!

So here's a quarter of the quilt....bound and everything, (ok no label yet, but that will come)

Resistance Movement

I'm trying really hard to resist.....I'm resisting sweets, I'm resisting white bread.  And now that I'm actually finishing some projects I'm really working hard at resisting the temptation to start a new project.  I'm still focusing on the UFO's and those poor orphan blocks that are just waiting to be a UFO.

Ok, what I really want to start on is this....

 

I picked this pattern up on a recent shopping trip with the Sisters.  One of them MADE me buy all the background fabric, so I'm really ready to go on this......but resist I must.

Instead, I took 4 lonely basket blocks and they are now going to be a pillow.

I'm quilting it with pearl cotton with big stitches, so this will be done in a flash.

Gotta get more of these UFO's done so I can start a new project....all this resisting is killing me!!!  Maybe I'll go eat some white bread.

No Need to be blue

There's plenty of blue in my Twin #1 quilt....I think I'm done with blue for a while.

but  wowee kazowee, didn't it come out nice?  It so big it would not fit on my design wall, so there was definitely an element of winging it when it came to putting the whole thing together.  But in the end, if two of the same fabric are side by side, who cares!

And now from the "Stop me before I say something stupid" department:

My car guys were discussing parts the other nite at the dinner table.  I try to be interested, really I do.....

So they are talking about Braille batteries for the car.  Braille this braille that.  So finally I join in....

"is it really safe for blind people to be working on a battery, couldn't they get burned by the acid or something?"

silence

laughter

at my expense

"Mom, Braille is the brand name"

oknevermind.

Somebody please stop me....
